Respiratory Therapy Clinical Pathway at CORALVITA

Every breath matters. At CORALVITA, our Respiratory Therapy Clinical Pathway is designed for patients who require specialized, prolonged respiratory support — whether they're ventilator-dependent, working to wean off breathing machines, or managing complex pulmonary conditions. Our experts combine cutting-edge devices with thoughtful, patient-centered care to restore breathing, reduce complications, and support meaningful recovery.

Who This Pathway Is For

This pathway is ideal for patients who:

  • Need ventilator management or assisted breathing over extended periods
  • Have respiratory failure or severe lung disease requiring advanced support
  • Require monitoring for oxygen therapy, tracheostomy care, or noninvasive ventilation
  • Benefit from respiratory therapists working in concert with pulmonary, nursing, and therapy teams

What You Can Expect

Comprehensive Assessment & Personalized Plan
On admission, our respiratory team conducts a full evaluation of your lung function, breathing mechanics, prior history, and current support needs. Each patient receives a tailored plan with clearly defined goals — such as reducing ventilator dependence, improving gas exchange, or optimizing airway clearance.

Daily Respiratory Support & Monitoring
You’ll receive around-the-clock respiratory care. This includes ventilator setting adjustments, non-invasive ventilation, oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, secretion management, and continuous monitoring of respiratory parameters.

Weaning & Rehabilitation
If clinically appropriate, we’ll work toward ventilator weaning using evidence-based protocols. Patients also engage in breathing exercises and therapy to rebuild strength and lung capacity. Speech therapy may support swallowing and speech in patients with tracheostomies.

Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Team
Respiratory therapists at CORALVITA don’t work in isolation. They coordinate with physicians, pulmonologists, nurses, wound care specialists, dietitians, and physical/occupational therapists to ensure all aspects of health contribute to better breathing outcomes.

Outcomes We Aim For

  • Increased independence from ventilatory support
  • Improved oxygenation and reduced respiratory distress
  • Fewer respiratory infections and hospital readmissions
  • Safer swallowing and reduced risks associated with airway devices
  • Enhanced comfort, reduced anxiety, better overall quality of life
