Visiting a Loved One: Guidelines & What to Know

We believe family plays a vital role in the recovery journey. Visits bring comfort, motivation, and a sense of connection that no medicine can replace.

Challenge

Visiting a loved one in an LTACH can feel overwhelming — families may be unsure of schedules, infection protocols, and how best to support recovery.

Solution

CORALVITA provides clear guidelines, flexible visiting policies, and practical tips so families can focus on what matters most: meaningful time together and active involvement in the healing journey.

Visiting Hours & Access

Our facility is designed to balance patient rest with family connection. Regular visiting hours will be shared with you at admission, but we do our best to accommodate special circumstances. If your loved one has unique needs, our team will work with you to make sure visits remain possible and meaningful.

Making The Most Of Your Visit

  • Keep visits positive and reassuring — your loved one may be tired, but hearing your voice and seeing familiar faces matters.
  • Respect therapy schedules and rest times — sometimes shorter visits are more effective than long ones.
  • Ask the care team how you can support recovery, whether by encouraging exercises, helping with routines, or simply sharing uplifting conversation.
The Rhythm of Recovery

Infection Prevention

You may be asked to wash your hands, wear protective equipment, or follow certain precautions when entering a patient’s room. These guidelines protect both your loved one and other patients, and our staff will walk you through each step.

Using Resources

At CORALVITA, our team is here for you too. Case managers, social workers, and chaplains can provide guidance, connect you with resources, and support your emotional well-being. Ask a trusted friend or family member to share updates with others, coordinate meals, or help with errands. You don’t have to carry this alone.

Our Commitment to You

Visiting a loved one in an LTACH can feel different than visiting in a traditional hospital, but our commitment is the same: to create an environment of healing, safety, and compassion. At CORALVITA, we welcome families as partners in care and are here to guide you through every step of the journey.
